GOOGLE AND INTEL PARTNER WITH TAG HEUER TO MAKE SMARTWATCH

Apple has been the source of much discussion with their upcoming Apple watch. It’s hard to go about my day without hearing some chatter or reading new headlines about their much desired watch. There are only a few smartwatches out there that have created much buzz comparatively. Well, that was the case; until today.

Today at the Baselworld Watch Expo, an exciting partnership between Google, Intel, and Tag Heuer was announced. According to Claude Biever, CEO of the luxurious watch maker, Tag Heuer:

Silicon Valley and Switzerland are going to conquer the market of the connected watch. We are not revealing the price, we are not revealing the functions. We are just revealing the most important thing, which is our partnership.

Apple has been praised for their product design, but Googles’ new partnership might be able to give Apple a run for its money. This is the “biggest announcement ever,” expressed Claude Biever, who has been working in the watch industry for over 40 years. It’s hard not agree with him. This is a big announcement and an even bigger partnership. With Google’s and Intel’s technology and Tag’s world-class designs, it appears to be an elite partnership that other smartwatch manufacturers should fear. While Apple may not be shaking in its boots, it should be shaking in its sandals. (Sarcasm)

Claude continued to explain that instead of creating their own smartwatch technology, he thought it would be best to partner with the industry leaders. Claude stated:

There are two operating systems: one is Apple’s iOS, the other is Android Wear – who are we to invent another language at that level? It would be absurd, it would be arrogant to believe that we could develop our own [operating system]. It would be a catastrophe to believe such a stupid thing. Google is not producing watches, so the relationship is perfect.

The news is exciting, and the limits seem to be endless. Consider this the Big 3 of the smartwatch world! (but who’s taking the roll of LeBron James) But, there are many unanswered questions. One of which is the cost of the watch. Will this partnership bring forth a watch with a Tag Heuer price tag, or will they create an affordable yet luxurious watch that the general population can afford? We will just have to wait and see!

Are you as excited as I am?! Will there now be a watch that could beat out the hype of the Apple watch? Tell us your thoughts in the comment section below
