Over the last couple of weeks, Samsung and Apple have been a popular topic with the release of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Apple Watch. However, today LG has made headlines as they unveiled their next big smartphone: the LG G4.

In the past, LG has not experience the same level of hype as Samsung or Apple with their product announcements. However, With the LG G4’s powerful camera, long battery life, and faster processor, LG might give Apple and Samsung a run for their money. Here are the specs for the LG G4:

What is really eye-catching about the LG G4 is the camera. With a 16 megapixel camera rear camera and 8 megapixel front camera, LG is a contender for the best camera on a smartphone in the market. What pushes them to the number one spot is the features that LG provides users with increased customization and control. Most smartphones allow you to adjust the flash, focus, some other basic settings. However, the LG really takes those features to the next level. Most everyday users won’t likely touch half of the features, but the hardcore photographer is likely to be in heaven. For example, you can adjust the ISO, shutter speed, and white balance which allows you to capture a more professional looking picture. That’s not to mention that professional Selfie-ism is about to be classified as a professional sport with these new specs and features.

When looking at the overall specs of the smartphone, LG really stepped up their game. Comparing the LG G4, Samsung Galaxy S6, and iPhone 6 side by side, the LG is a step above the iPhone 6 and just below the Samsung Galaxy S6–depending on your personal preference. I say this, because if you are looking at straight up performance, Samsung will have the edge. But if you are looking for a high performing smartphone with a great camera, the LG G4 outperforms the Galaxy.

LG is also taking a new approach to their smartphone when it comes to the overall design. The G4 will be available with a metal body, ceramic body, and a leather body. While we have seen ceramic and metal bodies before, offering a leather body provides a new style to meet additional user preferences. I guess you will need to buy all three and pick your look depending on what you plan on wearing for the day! (Ho Hum!)
