Every week there seems to be new announcements about different wearable technology. Sprint announced yesterday that they will be partnering with LG to offer the LG G Watch R (probably the best name I’ve ever heard) starting November 14th. LG’s G Watch R is the first, full circle P-OLED display watch powered through Android Wear by Google.
One of the highlights of this device is its compatibility. The G Watch R will be compatible with any Android smartphone running Android 4.3 or later. Additionally, here are a few of its features and specs:
- Ability to Receive Weather Alerts
- Displays Stock Information
- Social Network Notifications
- Fitness Tracking
|1.3” Full Circle P-OLED
|46.4 x 53.6 x 9.7 mm
|CPU Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 400, 1.2GHz
|Total Internal Memory
|4GB eMMC* (user available memory up to 3 GB), 512MB RAM
|9-Axis (Gyro, Accelerometer, Compass), PPG (Heart rate monitor), Barometer
|Dust & Water Resistance
|User available memory will be less.
|The IP67 rating means that the product will maintain its operability even if it is gently submerged in a tank of still tap water at room temperature for about 30 minutes, up to a depth of 1 meter
Out of all the available smart-watches, the LG G Watch R is (in my opinion) one of the most stylish tech watches. Although this watch does not have some of the features that the Samsung Galaxy Gear or the future Apple Watch have, it is a simple and stylish watch that has the benefit of not making you look like you are in Star Trek, unless that’s your thing. (More power to you)
